Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 September 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of Nafsi, an iOS application that helps you limit distracting apps and unlock them by completing a good deed. By downloading or using Nafsi, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What Nafsi does
Nafsi lets you select apps to lock and choose a good deed — such as dhikr, reading Quran, salawat, gratitude, or your own custom deed. Once the deed is completed, the selected apps unlock for a limited period you configure, then lock again.
3. Screen Time and Family Controls
App locking relies on Apple’s Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks. You must grant the relevant permission for Nafsi to shield or unshield apps. Nafsi does not see the content inside the apps you lock. Apple may change these frameworks, and system behaviour outside our control can affect how reliably apps stay locked.
4. Microphone and speech recognition
Some deeds can be verified by voice (for example reciting dhikr). If you use those deeds, Nafsi asks for microphone and speech recognition permission. Audio is used only to verify that the deed was completed and is not stored or shared for any other purpose. You can decline this permission and use non-voice deeds instead.
5. Notifications
With your permission, Nafsi sends reminders and prompts (Quran, sunnah and akhirah reminders, deed nudges, lock and unlock notices). You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Nafsi may offer a free trial and a paid Premium subscription. All purchases are handled by Apple through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple in line with App Store policy.
7. Your responsibilities
- Use Nafsi lawfully and only on devices you control.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or tamper with the app.
- Nafsi is a support tool for building better habits — it is not a guarantee of behaviour, and it is not religious, medical, or psychological advice.
8. Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue features to improve Nafsi. We aim for reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
9. Liability
Nafsi is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including missed notifications or apps that unlock or lock unexpectedly due to system behaviour.
